Susan Markovic, founder of Make-up Mode Masterclass provides continual mentoring to all her graduates. As a result of her industry expertise and contacts, many work experience opportunities are given to her graduates.

Susan also invites all graduates of Sydney Makeup Courses to assist her on her various jobs thus allowing them hands-on experience in a real job environment.

BRIDAL/FASHION COURSE

Introductory course for anyone wanting to be a bridal and photographic Makeup Artist

Maximum of 6 students per class

Prerequisites:
No previous training required. Student required to bring in own model for days 4-6. Models can be provided by the school at an additional fee.

Cost:
$1,650
(this includes a complimentary 18 piece brush set RRP$200 which will be given to the student on the first day of the course)

Deposit requirements:
$500 to secure your place in the class. The balance is payable on or before the first day of class

Refunds:
75% of your payment will be refunded if notice is given at least 4 weeks (28 days) prior to commencement date.

A transfer to another course can be made with no penalty but the transfer must be used within a 12 month period otherwise no refund is due.

In the event of a course being canceled by Makeup Mode, a full refund will be given. If a course date is changed by Makeup Mode and you do not accept the changes, a full refund will be given.

Course content:

  • Introduction to occupational health and safety, product knowledge including brushes & sterilising
  • Colour theory and makeup for black and white photography.
  • Correction of lips
  • Identifying correct foundation colours – tone – shade and use of different types of foundations and concealers
  • Determining faceshapes and how to correct using contouring and highlighting
  • Eyebrow shaping
  • Application of lashes (full strip & individual lashes)
  • Application of eyeliners
  • Blush and bronzer application – powders and crèmes
  • Identifying eyeshapes and corrective eyeshadow techniques
  • Make-up to suit ethnic and asian colouring and features
  • Classic, natural bridal makeup and creating glowing skin.
  • Technique for smokey eyes – soft smokey for bridal and rock chic smokey for editorial
  • Use of coloured eyeshadows – for fashion/editorial work, making eyes the focus
  • Mature make-up

This course includes a SHOPPING DAY to help you build your make-up kit. A student discount will apply at leading participating make-up stores on the day. The shopping date is separate to the course dates and will be determined by the students at the end of the course.



ADVANCED FASHION MAKEUP & HAIR

For anyone really serious about working in fashion, catwalk and editorial. It will give you a competitive edge over other make-up artists.

Bridal/Fashion course or its equivalent. Students need to provide models. Models can be provided by the school at an additional fee.

Advanced fashion bootcamp 5 CONSECUTIVE DAYS 10am - 4pm

Course content:

  • Contouring will be re-hashed, using a technique that is advanced and used extensively in fashion photographic work.
  • Makeup through the ages: 1920's, 1930's, 1940's, 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s focusing on the era's changing eyebrows & lips and their influence in fashion makeup today.
  • Perfecting the 'no makeup look' with glowing skin
  • Achieve the perfect 'wet' look make-up for a swimsuit shoot
  • Perfecting a long flowing hairstyle required for most editorial shoots (no hair experience required)
  • Avante Guarde make-up for the catwalk, exploring your creative side inspired by current fashion designers
  • Guest lecturer (for 2 days of the course) - Make-up Artist RACHEL MONTGOMERY (Make-up Artist of the Year 2011, 2012 & 2013) will demonstrate different editorial and beauty looks. One day will be the popular Eye Focus module - using colour on the EYES with confidence! Learn to explore your creative side adding experimental influence to your work giving it extra impact. Create avante guarde eyework using colour and texture to become a master in professional makeup.

This course concludes with a photographic shoot with a professional photographer. The students are required to fulfill a make-up brief designing their own make-up and hair for the shoot. You will receive professional images for your portfolio.



AIRBRUSH COURSE

Specialising in high definition for TV, Fashion, Catwalk and Bridal

Private one on one lessons available- or small group classes

Bridal/Fashion course or its equivalent. Students need to provide own models. Models can be provided by the school at an additional fee.

All participants are required to have their own airbrush equipment.
Kits are available at the school for $350.00
All make-up used in class is provided by MMM

  • Airbrush machine maintenance – disassemble and reassemble
  • Understanding air pressure and control
  • How to combine airbrush with manually applied make-up
  • Combining and mixing products/colours – understanding different ingredients
  • Applying airbrush techniques in foundation, contouring, blusher, eyebrows & eye shadows
  • Use of stencils and shields
  • Also available (information on request)
  • Refresher courses in Make-up for persons entering back into the make-up industry
  • Personal one-on-one make-up application for those wanting to apply make-up to themselves. Learn a natural day look as well as a smokey eye for evenings.
